Particularities of Depressive and Anxious Symptoms in Patients with Neurocognitive Disorders

Mood disorders encountered by the elderly are of concern to specialists in fields psychiatry, psychology and other social sciences, especially current demographic context increasing population. This study aimed build an affective emotional profile patient with neurocognitive disorder. The involved 91 patients, 49 women 42 men, aged between 55 85, hospitalized a clinical psychiatric hospital. To assess cognitive impairment, Minimental State Examination test, was applied. level anxiety depression, Clinical Assessment Scales for Elderly (CASE - SF) were Cognitive impairment correlates positively nonspecific symptoms depression. Among non-specific anxiety, overwhelming agitation (r (89) = .40, p <.001), irritability 0.34, <.001) correlated impairment. Depressive correlate poorly strongest predictor is (β – .46, t(85) 4.72, < .001). In patients depression take on different aspects.
